THE ALLIGATOR STATE

After long anticipation, and a semester we feared would never end, we finally made it to the beach. When I should have been studying in lab, I would find myself  daydreaming about sea shell hunting in the sun while Michael built a large sand structure of his choosing (I learned he had this tendency not too long after we made it official). I figured I probably wasn't the only one from my family who had been day dreaming about the beach all winter because the decision was unanimous and we went on the first day. Like usual I found way to many sea shells I wanted for keep, and Michael decided to build a sand sea turtle. Unfortunately an adorable two year old got to it before I could capture a photo. I think she enjoyed destroying it, just as much as Michael did creating it. As for the sun, we got overcast with lots of wind (can't put my beach towel down wind), but it made for some great mermaid hair.

Michael is crossing his fingers to see an alligator soon. I guess he thought they roamed the streets here, the way roosters do in Hawaii. He was a little disappointed when we got off the plane only to find that they don't actually crawl around and taunt people. Lizards on the other hand are absolutely countless. They roam around in even more numbers Michael imagined the gators would. We also spotted quite a few turtles, so hopefully that will suffice if we don't see a gator.

I can't wait to share more pictures soon! I am falling in love all over again, Florida is as beautiful as ever.

 Happy summertime friends.
