About Us

As we work to build our life on faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, and work, we hope for this site to be a place to document our journey. Visit our blog to play and learn alongside us.
For the past 7 years I have been in the classroom teaching. I taught preschool for 5 years, before I gave birth to Ramona the summer of 2016. In March of 2017 I finished student teaching in the first grade. That May I graduated with my bachelors in elementary education. This year I am teaching kindergarten part-time while trying to find balance as a mother and wife. It has been tricky at times, but I have been so grateful for how much I have already learned.
Next year I plan to stay home in the hopes of finding a rhythm for Ramona and I. Homeschooling has quietly been a part of the plan for a while now. I do not believe a child’s education begins when they start preschool or kindergarten. There is so much growth happening, just in the first 3 years of life. I hope to share a little bit of what we are doing to foster growth from a developmentally appropriate stand point. This will include a lot of play, and rest. I am still researching different homeschooling philosophies, and I imagine when the time comes, we will pull ideas from a few of our favorites. Some that stand out to me right now are the Charlotte Mason, Waldorf, and Unschooling methods.
The most important thing for us is that we find what fits our family. Of course, this will look different for every family, because no two children are the same and everyone has different circumstances. You can visit the resource page for books and videos that inspired us to choose this route. I will continue to update it with new resources as I come across them.
Thanks for stopping by!
