CELEBRATING 26

When I asked Michael what he wanted for his birthday, I got the answer every girl doesn't want to hear, "Don't worry about it, lets just forget my birthday this year". I don't know if it was the fact that turning 26 would officially make him six years older than me, or possibly because he just doesn't like all the attention, but he is married to moi, and I had different/better intentions.

Michael has been deemed the crafty one in our relationship, but this was all going to change with my big idea that I planned about one day before his birthday. With Spider-Man not in theaters til May, and  no hints as to what he even wanted, I was in control-- and there was no disappointing because I had him believing we could forget his birthday this year.

So-- I built a fort.

A really girly fort.

I got my baby sister and Natalie in on it too, they made the best German/Hispanic/Italian/Russian hostesses.

His birthday this year fell on the first snow storm of the season, and getting the call that he had been in a small accident (on his birthday!!) made me feel terrible for kind of ignoring him all day while I planned this (because I procrastinated).

It was never intended to be a super romantic night, hence the fort was built in the pre-school's play room at my parents house. After getting his call meant the night was strictly for cheering this guy up.

After eating, playing in the fort, and enjoying our entertainment from "Hasa" and "Nata," we bid a slightly terrible, and slightly wonderful 26th birthday farewell.

Happy 26th love.
XOXOXO
