"Hey honey, I think I want to be a brain surgeon!"
"Hello love, I think I am going to deliver babies, and become a natural disasters scientist!" (did I mention I was in geology too?)
Luckily I have decided what I want to be when I grow up (Biology teacher), but this semester has been one of the most interesting and challenging and I admire every person who braves medical school. I guess the idea of being able to have a greenhouse/classroom as my office and the privilege of teaching subjects from regenerating flat worms to complex ecosystems made it an easy choice. I clearly remember the Christmas I asked for the Planet Earth DVD set on blu-ray, Santa was kind that year. I suppose it is one of my callings in life, and all the others I guess I will have to hone down into hobbies.
I was always frustrated that my career choice never came easy to me, I had come down to two conclusions, either I am a passionless person (easily eliminated), or I am still discovering them. School has made me realize I am passionate about so many things. I think if it was an option, my career would be a full time student (minus the tests, I don't like those). I hear as a teacher though, you learn something new and you laugh almost everyday. Here's to hoping!
I hope you all have an easier time finding your calling in life, and if not, it is never too late. You might just be a multipotentialite.
